Setting the stage for "employee experience" thinking in 2015
The article that kicked off employee experience thinking
In August, 2015 the Digital Workplace Group (DWG) published my article Do you have a Chief Employee Experience Office (CEEO) leading your digital workplace?
The article articulated how siloed organizational departments with disparate goals lead to splintered tools and inconsistent experiences for employees.
It went on to explain how cross-functional planning and a focus on user experience (UX) and “experience thinking” could lead to more efficient and effective digital workplace programs.
For me this article was both the culmination of 10 years of work in intranets and employee communications and the kick-off of the next more advanced chapter of my work.
